John was killed at the quarry on Cockatoo Hill, North Bruny Island.
Following a blasting operation a small stone fell on his head.
He died at home that night of an epidural hematoma. 1952
He was an A I F Pilot.
His wife, Mollie, donated the bell to the church.
She is buried next to him
